Artist Statement

I grew up in the Delaware Valley and have worked as a Mechanical Engineer since 1982.  My true love has been working with wood since grade school. In 1999, I decided that life was too short. So I built a full woodturning studio in my basement to follow my passion.

I have taken classes to fine tune my craft and to learn the most I can about working with wood.  My skills have expanded from flatwork to round work. Turning vessels is my favorite wood art form and I use local recycled woods to create my hollowed out forms.  I develop my signature shape from hollowing out a half log sections to 1/8" wall thickness.  My surface treatments and finishes are chosen to enhance the natural beauty and grain flow of the wood.

I am a member of many organizations including American Association of Woodturners (Executive VP of the local chapter Del-Val Wood Turners in NJ), Bucks Wood Turners in Newton, PA, Wood Turning Center in Philadelphia. My work has been exhibited in numerous venues including New Hope Arts, Perkins Center for the Arts. I have had articles written about me in The Burlington County Times and the Courier Post in NJ and my work is available for sale in various galleries in NJ and PA including Creative Genius Art Gallery and Studio on a regular basis.
